In 2021, after 15 years of military service, my wife and I and our 5 beautiful daughters decided to settle down on a 13 acre homestead outside of Haven, Kansas. We had always felt called to the country, but coming from the city we had no idea on how or where to start. Many books later, some YouTube videos, and much prayer we were on our way to becoming first generation permaculture farmers! From chickens, hogs, cows, goats, and rabbits, we invite you to grow and learn with us on this amazing journey at Dug Fresh Farms!

CHICKENS (Meat Birds)
From the moment our chickens arrive on the farm, we ensure they receive the best care possible. We choose to raise them without vaccinations or hormones and supplement their diet with only non-GMO products. When they reach 4 weeks of age, we move them from the brooder to the pasture, where they enjoy fresh green grass every day. This practice keeps them healthy and enriches our pastures with valuable nutrients. Our methods reflect a deep understanding of natural and sustainable farming, and there's so much more to share about our journey. PIGS
At Dug Fresh Farms, our hogs are our pride and joy! We lovingly care for our Gloucester pigs, affectionately known as "Ol Spots," ensuring they thrive in the best environment possible. For 8 months, they roam and graze on our pastures, rotating to fresh grass every week for the tastiest "salads" ever! This rotational grazing not only results in the brightest red and most tender meat you could ask for but also works in harmony with our land to produce higher quality food every year. GOATS
Our goats are truly the heart of our farm. We lovingly breed, raise, and sell these adorable creatures to meet all your needs. Many families choose our delightful goats to keep their lawns beautifully manicured and to enjoy fresh, delicious goat milk every day. Whatever your desires, our goats are sure to bring you years of joy and happiness!
DAIRY COWS
Our Jersey/Dexter dairy cows are like gentle giants, each producing nearly 2 gallons of fresh milk every day! At Dug Fresh Farms, we take great care in rotating our cows throughout the year. We ensure specific parts of our land remain untouched for an entire year to heal and regenerate, so when our cows graze, they get the purest and freshest grass possible. While dairy isn't our main focus, we know the joy of filling your fridge with the highest quality milk around. Experience the difference with fresh milk from our beloved cows!
CHICKENS (Egg Layers)
Our Hyline chickens lay some of the most delicious eggs you'll ever taste! When you crack one open, you'll be amazed by the vibrant yellow yolk inside.
